This is a transcript of the will of Edward Jones of Glynfechan in the parish of Llansanffraid Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire, Wales. His will was made on 17 December 1773 and was proved on 12 September 1775.

Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I Edward Jones of Glyn vechan
in the parish of Llan: st. ffraid Glyn Ceiriog County of
Denbigh and Diocese of St. Asaph being sick and weak
in body but of perfect mind and memory praise be
to God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament
that is to say first and principally I give and bequeath
my Soul to Almighty God hopeing to have full pardon and
remission of all my sins and my body I recomend to the
Earth to be buried in decent christian burial at the
discretion of my Executrix and as touching such worldly
Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I
give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form
following
Item I give and bequeath to my eldest son Edward a bed and
bedstead and all its appurtenance thereunto belonging
together with my own press and a Wainscot Chest Item
I give and bequeath all the rest of my personall Estate
to my loving Wife as long as she will remain on my
account and for her to dispose of the same to my
younger Children if such will be as she thinks proper
but if she doth happen to Inter Marry with another
Husband I give and bequeath all my said Estate to my
younger Child or Children if there be such to be divided
between them share and share alike Item I nominate and
appoint my brother in law Richard Green Thomas Jones
of Talygarth and John Evans of Glyn vechan to be Trustees
hopeing they will look and see for the performing of this
my Will Item I give and bequeath to my dear wife a bed and

bedstead with all its appurtenance thereunto belonging dureing
her lifetime and after her decease I give and bequeath the
same to my younger Child or Children if they be Item I
likewise nominate constitute and ordain my dear Wife
to be Sole Executrix of this my Will and I do hereby
utterly revoke disallow and disannul all and every other
former Will, Legacies or bequests by me in any wise
made ratifying and confirming this to be my last and
Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this seventeenth day December
in the year of Our Lord God 1773
